Our history

A&B Mechanical Ltd. started out like so many other trade companies, an individual looking to move on from a position at a plumbing company to form his own company as a sole proprietor. In 1989 Bruce McWhirter decided to do just that. He thought that the name should reflect more than just a plumbing shop and he decided that mechanical was far more encompassing. Taking the first initials from his 2 children at the time, Ainsley and Brittany he decided to call his company A&B Mechanical. The company incorporated 4 years later to become A&B Mechanical Ltd.

Starting a new company was challenging and was not without its trials. Balancing a family life and running a 24 hour/365 day company meant sacrifices had to be made. The first years were spent looking for work, completing projects on time and collecting bills. With hard work and a dedication towards listening to the needs of the customer and providing services that they expect, A&B Mechanical Ltd. has grown from a 1 man operation to 30 employee's that still provide the same service that has allowed the company to prosper as much as it has.
